Does That Dog Bite?

As responsible pet owners who venture forth into the community with our Pet Partners® on a regular basis, members of Intermountain Therapy Animals know much of this already, but others may not. We have a special obligation to educate others as often as we can.

Each year, about 4.7 million Americans are bitten by dogs - with almost half of those being children. The U.S.P.S. says 10 mail carriers were bitten daily in 2003 - almost 3,800 each year. Dog bites can be prevented through public awareness and responsible pet ownership.
