schools, libraries and women's centers in three counties.

One of the
classrooms we visit weekly, raised money for a local

|
search and
rescue group by having a reading marathon. One child
|
|
alone read
1,000 pages!

official R.E.A.D. dog! Bear reads with children at Old

Mission
Peninsula Elementary School, as well as assisting

children in
the library. He has also formed a special company with
|
|
the 6th grade
class - the Be Excited About Reading Company (or
|
|
BEAR, Inc.) -
to help them with persuasive writing and reading
|
|
analysis. Bear
also does many special programs at the library -
|
|
